The wake-up call was brutal following scandals such as Enron or WorldCom, which revealed the flaws of a poorly controlled system. They justified the implementation of a new reorganization of businesses, including control processes at all levels, with the goal of maximum transparency. In order to analyze this new type of behaviour, we felt it would be interesting to focus on one aspect of professional ethics which has recently been the subject of controversy: whistleblowing. It therefore seems appropriate to analyze this method of internal control, which companies listed on Wall Street are obliged to comply with, but which appears to conflict with certain cultural practices. |
