French coaching is like a river, with only one of its banks frequented. The water is the flow of ideas which, rather than carving out the path which would allow it to follow its natural course, spreads haphazardly, flooding the terrain of coaching. This article proposes a theoretical categorisation of coaching: on the one hand, vernacular coaching, and on the other, vehicular coaching. Vernacular coaching refers to a paradigmatic regionality and only reveals its truth in the culture within which it has developed. For its part, vehicular coaching posits the hypothesis of a universal practice, independent of the regional culture. Hence vehicular coaching addresses the operating procedure (modus operandi) and potential (potentia), rather than the thought, the idea or the knowledge of the intelligible, linked to the being. The potentia becomes the basis for this categorisation. |
