Résumé : |
Firm must keep legitimacy so that its aims and activities would be supported by its environment. However, the environment consists of groups with contradictory and irreconcilable interests. How to satisfy at the same time productive efficiency and respect of environmental interest? Nils Brunsson (1993, 2002) suggests a solution: organizational hypocrisy. The aim of this research is to study organizational hypocrisy and to understand its management. Two organizations coexist into any Firm: Action organization that manages informal actions and Political organization that products legitimacy to satisfy the external environment. According to Brunsson, this splitting between Action and Political organization is possible thanks to organizational hypocrisy that satisfies different groups’ interests in and out of the organization. Firm needs to be irrational although appearing rational. We conclude that thanks to management of hypocrisy firm can satisfy organizational aims and environmental values decoupling two different organizations. Each one will satisfy a goal: environmental legitimacy for Political organization and economic for Action organization. |
