This article highlights an increasing sense of competition between institutions accompanying the creation of firms (local authorities, public sector financial help, private consulting and training companies, banks, etc.). Such institutions, in order to protect their own interests in terms of professional legitimacy or short-term profitability, often prove to be obstacles to long-term creation strategies. The aim of this article is to appropriate questions about the “symbolic” resources which go beyond strategies link to the simple need to survive economically which, alone, do not guarantee the best possible support for entrepreneurs.
The concept of the “donation” will be discussed as a pivotal means of understanding the obstacles identified within a network of enterprise creation support agencies. This approach will support those practices which facilitate the emergence of none solid relationships between players involved in accompanying enterprise creators whilst respecting their independence and their own professional interests. |
