Résumé : |
The author analyses the impact that a rationality that is dependent on the symbolic can have in political and economic decision-making. The two-sided aspect of the economic representation of oil in Venezuela is shown in this way: on the one band, a conception of oil as a wealth that is distinct from work, a gift of nature; on the other hand, the epiphany
of a conception of evil founded on a reducing identification between oil and money. Accorcling to the author the consequence of this bas been the impossibility of controlling the exploitation of oil by the country. |
