Birgit Schyns

 
 

Birgit Schyns, a Professor in the Department of People and Organizations at NEOMA Business School, earned her PhD in 2001 at the University of Leipzig in Germany. Her research focuses on leadership and research methodologies, and she is widely recognized for her pioneering work on destructive leadership and its darker aspects. Her publications in leading global journals have earned numerous awards, including the CCL and European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology Best Paper Award, the Emerald Literati Network Highly Commended Award, the Best Paper Award in the Leadership Track at the British Academy of Management, and another Emerald Literati Network Highly Commended Award.

Dark Leadership: Overview and recent results
 
The presentation will give an overview of what dark leadership is, including its antecedents and outcomes. Furthermore, I will discuss recent studies, notably on the role of narcissism and follower behaviour in dark leadership research. I will also report recent research that looks into hybrid context and dark leadership.
